The University of Tokyo is expected to begin teaching a blockchain course following the generous support and donations from Japanese banking giant, Sumitomo Mitsui (SMBC) and the Ethereum Foundation, amongst others. The donation totaling nearly $800,000, will go towards supporting the university in holding this course. A main focus will be to help students become blockchain entrepreneurs, focusing on the development of decentralized solutions, their social implementations, and human resources. The course will span three years and will be taught through lectures as well as in practice, such as working to create ICT services or blockchain based business models.
