General Motors (NYSE: GM) has announced its plan to invest $300 million in the Orion Township, Michigan, assembly plant for manufacturing a new Chevrolet electric vehicle. The investment is expected to create 400 jobs at the Orion plant. GM intends to spend ~$1.8 billion on manufacturing operations in the U.S. This is expected to create 700 new jobs and support 28,000 jobs across six states. The Company’s officials stated that the announcement was planned well before Trump’s tweets on GM.
