New York’s Attorney General has obtained a court order against crypto exchange Bitfinex’s operator iFinex as well as stablecoin company Tether.

The New York Attorney General (NYAG) has obtained a court order against iFinex Inc., ordering them not to violate New York law and defrauding New York residents. iFinex operates major crypto currency exchange Bitfinex and affiliated stablecoin operator Tether. NYAG has alleged that Bitfinex lost $850 million and subsequently used funds from Tether to secretly cover the shortfall. So far, more than $600 million is alleged to have been transferred.
