U.S.-based company Indiegogo has announced its expansion into tokenised securities. Launched in 2008, Indiegogo works as a platform encouraging entrepreneurs to start their businesses and foster innovation. They carry an audience of over 10 million members across the world. With this expansion, the Company will provide access to users with the asset of security tokens the ability to own a tokenised share of common stock in the St. Regis Aspen Resort (via the Aspen Digital token offering). This luxury resort is located in Colorado, within view of the Rocky Mountains, and was purchased by Elevated Returns in 2010, from which it is conducting a single-asset real estate investment trust (REIT) offering, dividing up a minimum of $12 million for investment in security tokens. Slava Rubin, founder of Indiegogo, expressed excitement over the potential of blockchain technology and hopes this step will line up with the Company’s vision and work as an access point to their growing network.
