Microsoft is launching the first decentralized identity (DID) network on top of the bitcoin blockchain. The open source project, called Ion, deals with the underlying mechanics of how networks talk to each other. The infrastructure, atop the bitcoin blockchain, is based on an emerging set of open standards developed with partners in the Decentralized Identity Foundation.
