Apple Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL) dismissed over 200 employees from its autonomous vehicle group Project Titanas. This was the result of recent scale back plans from self-driving cars to focus on building software and technology for autonomous driving. Apple hired Tesla Engineering Vice President, Doug Field in August 2018 to head Project Titan alongside Bob Mansfield. These dismissals are anticipated restructuring under the relatively new leadership. The Company also laid off employees earlier from the unit in 2016.
