Hecla Mining Company, a low-cost U.S. silver producer with operating mines in Alaska, Idaho and Mexico, and a gold producer with operating mines in Quebec, Canada and Nevada, recently reported provided an update on its drilling programs during the first quarter. The programs encompassed 20 drills at 5 mines in North America. Key highlights included the identification of two zones for potential new underground mining areas at Casa Berardi, Quebec; potential increase of oxide mine life through upgraded resource in the Middle Vein at San Sebastian, Mexico; and confirmation of expanded mineralization in the West Gloria in underground drilling at Hollister and identification of new mineralization to the north, at Nevada.
