American Honda will voluntarily recall approximately 1.1 million Acura and Honda vehicles in the United States to replace, for free, Takata desiccated replacement driver front airbag inflators that may rupture if an airbag deploys in a crash.

Honda announced that it will be recalling 1.1 million Honda and Acura vehicles in the U.S. to replace defective Takata airbags on the driver’s side. The vehicles involved in this recall were previously repaired using specific Takata desiccated replacement inflators or entire replacement airbag modules containing these inflators. Free repairs of the recalled cars are scheduled to begin immediately in the U.S. with replacement parts made by alternate suppliers.
