New York’s Department of Financial Services (DFS) has granted a BitLicense to the New York Digital Investment Group (NYDIG), for offering crypto-related services in the state. DFS has approved the application of NYDIG Execution LLC, a subsidiary of NYDIG LLC, for a virtual currency license and a money transmission license. Another NYDIG subsidiary, NYDIG Trust Company LLC, has been authorized to operate as a limited purpose trust company. DFS authorized NYDIG to operate as a custodian for virtual currencies, including Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ether, XRP and Litecoin.
