Accenture’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Pierre Nanterme has resigned with immediate effect stating health issue concerns. The Company has appointed David Rowland as interim Chief Executive Officer and the newest addition to the board of directors. Rowland has served as Accenture’s Chief Financial Officer since July 2013. He has held many leadership roles throughout his 35-year career with the company and played a major part in shaping Accenture’s growth strategy. Additionally, Accenture named lead independent director Marge Magner as the company’s non-executive Chair of the Board and KC McClure as Chief Financial Officer.
