U.S. Crude Oil Inventories Jump, OPEC Supply May Be on the Rise

In the week to April 19, U.S. crude oil inventories rose by 5.48 million barrels, as per data from the regular weekly report released Wednesday by the Energy Information Administration. The report also indicated that OPEC may have already increased supply, as evidenced by a 1.2 million barrels jump in U.S. imports. Following the data release, WTI futures fell 0.77%, to $65.79 in midday trading on Wednesday, while Brent futures lost 0.16%, to $74.39.
