This Thursday’s weekly U.S. crude inventories report by the American Petroleum Institute announced a draw of 4.50 million barrels in U.S. crude oil inventories for the week ending Dec. 28. These results followed a build of 6.92 million barrels in the previous week ending Dec. 21. Along with this news as well as other reports of crude oil output cut by major producers drove WTI futures prices over 1% to close at US$47.1 per barrel Thursday. Brent futures jumped nearly 2.0% to close at US$55.95 per barrel.
