Nevada, once an attractive destination for gold explorers and producers, has recently seen a shift toward Vanadium exploration. Prices of Vanadium have increased multi-fold over the past two years on strong demand for the scarce metal in electrical storage and battery applications. China accounts for 50% of all vanadium production, followed by Brazil, Russia, and South Africa. A key US project in the Nevada region is Prophecy Development Corp’s Gibellini project, which hosts the largest measured and indicated primary vanadium resource in the US.
