Energy Fuels, an integrated Uranium producer, has refurbished the Pandora and La Sal uranium/vanadium mines in Utah is ready to enter full production. The refurbishments have been made during the test-mining campaign, mining 5200 tons of mineralised material with ore grades of 1.60% V2O5 and 0.19% U3O8. Since Vanadium prices are volatile, economics of these mines are expected to be supported by Uranium sales at higher prices from current levels on improving global uranium market conditions as well as the ongoing government investigation into uranium imports into the US. Once uranium prices improve sufficiently, Energy Fuels will be able to produce significant quantities of vanadium from these mines.
