General Moly, Inc, a pure-play molybdenum mineral development company, recently announced that its flagship Mount Hope molybdenum mine may finally get approval from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in mid-2019. Mount Hope is one of the world’s largest undeveloped primary molybdenum deposits, and has had a long wait of over five years since BLM approved a mine plan of operations for the project on Nov. 16, 2012. Subsequently, on Dec. 28, 2016, the U.S. Court of Appeals issued a decision asking for further action on three issues related to the proposed mine. This has led to the new Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) which was recently released by the BLM with public comment on the same ending April 22.
