American Lithium, a junior explorer currently focused on exploring and developing the FLV and TLC lithium projects in the highly prospective Esmeralda Lithium District in Nevada, recently announced the addition of vanadium assets to Nevada’s projects mix. The company agreed to buy Alaska Nevada Mining’s 100% interest in the Extinction Ridge vanadium project in Nevada, US. However, American Lithium said it has yet to decide what role the new asset will play within its long term asset strategy. Recently, Vanadium demand has grown rapidly due to increasing applications in clean energy solutions. One of these significant applications is the vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB), which is a breakthrough technology in energy storage.
