Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA is collaborating with the state for a joint $1.6 billion plant in Huntsville, Alabama. From 2021, Mazda Toyota expects to manufacture 300,000 vehicles including the next-generation Toyota Corolla and a new Mazda crossover model at the new plant. The auto company is hiring 4,000 employees who will earn an annual average salary of $50,000. Toyota has invested nearly $1 billion in a nearby engine plant in Huntsville that employs 1,400 people.
