California is utilizing Blockchain technology and Internet of Things (IoT) to tackle drought by making groundwater usage sustainable. IBM Research and sensor tech provider SweetSense has partnered with The Freshwater Trust (TFT), and the University of Colorado Boulder for the project. This technology initiative can accurately monitor and track groundwater use in what is called “one of the largest and most at risk aquifers in North America.”
