Two former Illinois state directors launched their own blockchain identity startup, and announced thier first partnership with a major enterprise.

Chicago based blockchain private solution Attest, is partnering with Deloitte, accounting and professional services giant, in an effort to return control of personal information to citizens. Cab Morris, previously the state of Illinois’ director of blockchain strategy, and Jennifer O’Rourke, previously the state’s deputy director of entrepreneurship, are the co-founders of Attest and with their backgrounds in government. Attest is working to build two products: a cryptographically secured identity storage and application program interfaces that will allow users to authenticate their identity and give consent to third party usage of their identity.
