Renowned U.S. biotech expert and molecular biologist Dr. Nina Fedoroff from Pennsylvania State University, has advised that the usage of modern scientific methods of food production is the best way for nations like Uganda to increase yields and incomes for farmers in an uncertain future. She backed the use of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) to increase food production, citing existing research which indicates that they are safe for humans and animals. Dr. Fedoroff further asserted that safe biotech innovations are available to solve challenges posed by climate change.
