Ford Motor Co. is developing a plug-in hybrid and full pure-electric version of its Ford F-150. Ford’s electric trucks will offer an alternative to conventional fossil fuel-powered transportation. The F-150 accounted for nearly one-third of Ford’s sales last year and has been the top-selling U.S. vehicle for the last 40 years. Ford will re-allocate capital to high-growth and high-margin product segments as well as smart vehicles and services. The new strategy center’s on high-growth product segments, electrified propulsion, autonomous vehicles, mobility services, and operational fitness.
